Association Européenne des Cheminots - British Section
The AEC exists to bring like-minded railway staff from Europe together for social, cultural, and technical events. Membership is open to anyone employed within the rail industry, irrespective of rank or position. With the continued change to the railways of Europe, membership is not restricted to employees of the “former national companies”, but is extended to anyone who works within the rail business. The association is non profit-making.
Each year we hold two major events, known as “European Days”, in spring and autumn. Each lasts about a week and brings together an average of 250 members. The programme is the chance for the host country to show its cultural and social life. The planned dates and locations of European Days are listed below. Apart from European Days, training courses are run at least twice a year; guest speakers are drawn from the industry nationally and internationally, the European Parliament, and experts from other transport industries. National Sections exist in Austria, Belgium, Britain, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain.
British Section membership costs £5.00 per year.
