This derelict and disused signal box was once the control centre that directed the trains over the swingbridge towards Ipswich and onto London and has now been out of use for a year or so, allowing boating in and out of the Suffolk Broads. There is a Portacabin now on the up side that is used for the same purpose now.
There is only a single line on the bridge now, on what is the up side; the down side has been turned into a safe walking route.
